Privacy Policy
The short version
Fabz collects no data. There are no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third parties. Everything you type into it is stored in a database file on your own device, and is included in your phone's own backup to your personal Google or Apple account so that you don't lose it if you lose your phone. That backup belongs to you, not to us — we cannot access it, and we have no technical means of receiving your records at all.
Nothing below contradicts that paragraph. The rest is detail.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you record lives in one database file (finance.db) inside the app's private storage on your device:
- Spending records — amounts, dates, categories, and any optional note or name you add
- Income records — amounts, dates, and any optional note
- Categories you create, and how you have classified them
- Savings goals — names, targets, and the amount you say you have put aside
- Recurring spending schedules
- Your app preferences, such as your chosen currency
The app has no network code. It cannot send this data anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to send it to.
What we collect
Nothing.
- No personal information
- No financial data
- No analytics, usage statistics, or crash reports
- No device identifiers or advertising IDs
- No location data
- No contacts, photos, or files
The app makes no network requests of any kind.
Third parties
There are none. The app contains no advertising networks, no analytics providers, no crash reporting, and no social media integrations. No data is shared, sold, or disclosed to anyone, because no data is collected in the first place.
Biometric unlock
If you turn on the app lock, Fabz asks your device to confirm your identity using the fingerprint, face, or passcode already set up on it. Your biometric data is handled entirely by your device's operating system. The app never receives it, never stores it, and only learns whether the check succeeded or failed.
Device backups
Your device's own backup system — Google Drive on Android, iCloud on iOS — includes this app's database in your device backup, the same way it does for your other apps. This is deliberate: it means that if you lose or replace your phone, the records you have built up come back with it rather than being lost.
That backup is made by your device, to your own cloud account, under your operating system's privacy policy. It is not sent to us, we are not a party to it, and we cannot access it. If you would rather it did not happen, you can turn it off in your device's backup settings, and the app will keep working exactly as before — your data will simply exist only on the device.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual records inside the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes its database and everything in it from the device; to remove the copy held in your own device backup, use your phone's backup settings. There is no account to close and nothing for us to delete on our side, because we hold nothing.
Children
Fabz is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app adds a feature that sends data anywhere, this policy will be updated before that version is released, the change will be described plainly rather than buried, and any such feature will be off by default and require your explicit consent to turn on. Continued use of an existing version never silently changes what happens to your data.
